Shannon Hansen

In my counselling practice, I provide a supportive and confidential space where clients feel seen and heard. I view the counselling relationship as a collaborative process, supporting individuals to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences at their own pace.
As a pluralistic counsellor, my work is client-centred and solution-focused, drawing on a range of approaches, including creative therapy. I am committed to ethical practice and to supporting clients in enhancing their wellbeing through compassionate, non-judgemental engagement.
I was raised in West Auckland, and in 2022 relocated to Warkworth in the Rodney district, north of Auckland. Now that my children have left home, I enjoy cooking and walking with my partner and our Leonberger dog.
Prior to training as a counsellor, I worked in adult education, including delivering workplace health literacy programmes. I also spent over a decade working within a large international organisation, developing a strong understanding of work–life balance, organisational change, globalisation, and restructuring.
