Travel Information
I am a registered Social worker and my cultural experiences have been shaped by my Māori whakapapa, my connection to whānau and my upbringing in Aotearoa. I have developed an understanding of the importance of whakapapa, whanaungatanga, manaakitanga. Mana enhanced practice, this guides me to deepen my understanding of the key Maori values, practices, concepts and key events that have impacted Maori. I have also developed experience and confidence in incorporating Māori perspectives into my professional practice, including understanding the importance of culturally safe practice, relationships, communication and respecting each person's cultural identity.
My experiences have taught me that culture is an important part of a person's identity and wellbeing, and that effective practice requires me to remain respectful, curious and open to the cultural experiences and values of others.
I have experience in CBT, MI, ACT, Trauma informed, Family harm intervention, Counselling skills, Social Services, Youth intervention, Trauma informed with accreditation, Mental health and addictions. Comprehensive parenting assessments
