Travel Information

Kia ora, I am a registered counsellor working in private practice, and am ACC registered and able to provide sensitive claims therapy.

My approach is to work with each person as an individual to develop a trusting and honest therapeutic relationship as a base to address issues or past trauma that may be getting in the way of living fully.

My background is in working with people with addictions and their family members, while recognising that this is complex and there are often underlying issues that can contribute to addictive behaviour. Developing insight and addressing issues such as mental health problems, relationship difficulties, trauma or negative beliefs about self are important in order for lasting change to occur.

I am committed to ongoing learning and developing my skills and knowledge and have studied treatment of addiction and co-existing disorders at a post-graduate level. Most recently, I have completed a three year training programme in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and I am currently working towards completing exams in order to register as a Psychotherapist.

I work with a range of modalities and am interested in working psychodynamically with clients, which can involve bringing awareness of patterns of behaviour, the impact of the past on the present and unconscious elements at play. The goal of this approach to therapy is to build awareness of self and others in order to create an increased ability to manage in the present and allow people to feel more in control of their future.

I am not currently taking new clients however if you are interested in working with me please make contact to enquire about being placed on a wait list.
