Qualifications: Postgraduate Diploma Social and Community Studies; BA Community and Family Studies (Major – Community and Family Studies, Minor – Māori Society and Culture); Postgraduate in Social Services Supervision – University of Otago

 I am of Ngāpuhi descent, born and raised in Ōamaru moving to Dunedin in my early twenties to complete my postgraduate studies in Social Work. I have had the privilege of spending over 20 years working in the field of education, child protection, youth justice, adolescent mental health, health and family violence.

I enjoy supporting practitioners to develop their competencies, build on their strengths and to have a safe space to practice critical thinking and self-reflection. Supervision is a space for practitioners to develop their knowledge and skills to promote child and family safety, to increase their cultural awareness, find ways of decreasing work-related stress and to find their own sense of professional identity.
