Travel Information
Psychotherapy is a type of conversation where we explore together what’s happening in your world. We are likely to look at what has happened in your early life, what is happening in your life outside the therapy room now and how we relate with each other inside the therapy room. One of the aims of therapy is to increase your awareness of unconscious factors that may be influencing your life, including past hurts. This is an opportunity to work through unfinished or stuck experiences in order to free-up that which is creative and alive within you. The therapeutic relationship is a vital part of this process.
Practicing Since:

Psychotherapist from 2014 - present
Languages Spoken:
English
Skills and Experience:
As a social worker, I predominantly worked in health settings: community health and hospitals, specializing in older persons health.
As a psychotherapist, I have worked mainly in trauma recovery following historical and recent sexual harm. I also work with people who are feeling stuck and exploring meaning in their lives.
Specialist Area(s):
I originally trained in Gestalt Psychotherapy and have subsequently trained in EMDR therapy and dipped my toes into more psychoanalytic models of therapy such as the Conversational Model.
Cultural Experience:
I work from a Bicultural perspective.
About me:
I am a fully registered Psychotherapist with ANZAP and a full member of my professional body, NZAP.
I moved to Central Otago from Wellington in 2020 amidst all the chaos of covid. I live in the Ida Valley, near Ranfurly. I work part time in Ranfurly, Alexandra and a little bit online.
