About me:
Karen has a Bachelor of counselling and is completing her Master’s in Violence and Trauma. Karen has specialised in domestic abuse and trauma for the last 6 years. She believes is the right of all, to live lives free of abuse and violence. Karen’s goal to empower each of her clients and support them as they grow in their own unique journey towards healing.

Karen believes a wholistic approach and uses a range of modalities including Māori and Indigenous Models of Health, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Creative Expressive Interventions (Art Therapy), Psychodynamic, Response-based Therapy, Person-centered Therapy, Mindfulness and Narrative Therapy.

Equine Therapy

Equine therapy has been used to treat anxiety, ADHD, eating disorders, addiction, depression, PTSD and many other mental health conditions, and, in addition to targeting symptoms of those disorders, is theorized to help people build confidence, self-awareness, and empathy.
