Joseph Bowcott

I am a fully qualified Counsellor and EMDR Therapist (NZAC registered) with 20 years’ experience as a Clinical Manager, Clinical Supervisor, Counsellor and Mediator/Facilitator. I have a wealth of experience of working with adults and young people and this expertise ranges from common mental health issues such as anxiety and depression, stress, alcohol and substance misuse, health anxiety, self-harm, bereavement and loss. I have experience as a positive parenting mentor, career development coach and a suicide intervention first aider. I also have experience working with Couples and Families in a therapeutic setting. With a strong ability to connect to client’s quickly and empathically, I use a range of tools including Person Centred, EMDR and Brief therapy models to help clients successfully overcome distresses, difficulties, and episodes of poor mental health or other issues.
