Susan Smith

I am a Social Worker based in Christchurch. The last 23 years of providing social work in the community has shaped my practice working with a wide range of individuals, and whanau. I worked with non custodial parents through Oranga Tamariki and with foster parents in their homes or in group settings who were dealing with their own and their children's/grandchildren's trauma. I also fulfilled coordination and brokering roles in the community. I moved to working with ACC Sensitive Claims 5 years ago. I am passionate to support those of us who are working through their trauma. I bring a calm and supportive approach to my practice. I bring a strength based approach and can access other skills and tools in my work with our kiritaki. I also believe in working in a team with the lead Provider to ensure the best service for the kiritaki.
