South Coast Psychology is pleased to invite referrals and registrations for our upcoming DBT‑A Rangatahi Skills Retreat Day, taking place on Saturday, 14th March 2026, from 10am–2pm at our Edendale location. This one‑day, skills-focused retreat has been designed specifically for young people aged between  12-16 who have experienced trauma and are currently engaged with ACC Sensitive Claims (Tailored Support to Wellbeing Stage A or B).

Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents (DBT‑A) is an evidence-based approach that supports Rangatahi to strengthen emotional regulation, develop distress‑tolerance strategies, enhance interpersonal effectiveness, and build self‑awareness. Our retreat day offers a supportive, structured environment for learning these skills in a way that is practical, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.

Throughout the day, participants will take part in:

  • Mindfulness-based activities
  • Psychoeducation sessions (e.g., emotional regulation, distress tolerance)
  • Group discussion and skill review
  • Focused teaching of DBT‑A skills
  • A shared meal and opportunities for connection

Our aim is to foster resilience, empower healthier decision‑making, and help young people build tools that support everyday wellbeing.
